Ogden • McNeese State torched Weber State for nearly 600 yards of offense and raced away from the Wildcats for a 35-21 victory Saturday night at Stewart Stadium.

After trailing 14-0 at the half, Weber State (0-3) had an opportunity to tie in the third quarter. Having already scored one touchdown, the Wildcats recovered a fumble on the 19th-ranked Cowboys' 26-yard line.

WSU quarterback Mike Hoke threw an interception inside the MSU 10-yard line on the next play.

McNeese State (3-0) receiver Diontae Spencer raced 91 yards for a score on its first play following the pick, and Weber State never recovered from what could have been a 14-point swing.

Hoke was 9 of 19 passing before being replaced by Jordan Adamczyk in the fourth period.

McNeese State quarterback Cody Stroud completed 20 of 27 passes for 256 yards. —
