COLLEGE BASKETBALL • Chris Collinsworth's short and injury-riddled basketball career at BYU is over. The school announced Monday that the sophomore forward will have career-ending microfracture ankle surgery and has decided to call it quits.

Collinsworth played 35 games as a freshman, averaging 4.8 rebounds and 3.2 points per game, before leaving on an LDS Church mission in Australia.

The past two seasons since returning home, Collinsworth has played in only 11 games. The Provo High graduate played nine games in 2010-11 before microfracture surgery in 2011 on his right knee.

Collinsworth's brother, Kyle, is on a church mission in Russia.
