State colleges: Breon Allen rushes for 281 yards in Snow College's 50-33 victory

Ephraim • Breon Allen rushed for 281 yards and three touchdowns to lead No. 15-ranked Snow College over Glendale Community College 50-33 in junior college football Saturday.

Allen scored on runs of 3, 58 and 44 yards. Badgers defensive end Thomas Bryson scored the first points of the game after tackling Glendale running back Devontre Burks in the end zone for a safety late in the first quarter. Bryson also blocked a punt, which was returned 24 yards for a touchdown.

Snow improves to 3-1.

Dixie State 24, Asuza Pacific 22 • The Red Storm scored 12 points in the fourth quarter and blocked a potential game-winning field goal with less than two minutes remaining in Glendora, Calif. Former University of Utah player Griff Robles rushed for 55 yards and a touchdown for Dixie State (3-1), which was outgained 348-232.

Volleyball

BYU 3, Princeton 0 • In Washington, D.C., Alexa Gray tallied 14 kills to help the No. 15-ranked Cougars remain undefeated in a 25-14, 25-11, 25-21 victory at the George Washington Invitational.

Clara Parker had 21 digs and Heather Hannemann had 39 assists for BYU (11-0), which earned its eighth sweep of the season.

Utah State 3, Texas State 0 • In San Marcos, Texas, Shay Sorensen had a match-high 15 kills to lead the Aggies to a 25-23, 25-15, 29-27 victory in Western Athletic Conference play. Josselyn White and Rachel Orr each had nine kills for Utah State (7-4, 2-0 WAC), which won its second straight match to conclude a seven-game road trip.

Idaho State 3, Southern Utah 0 • In Pocatello, Idaho, the Bengals won 25-14, 25-21, 25-14 in Big Sky Conference play to extend their winning streak to seven matches.

Analaine Mailoto led SUU (4-8, 1-1) with nine kills.

Westminster 3, Montana Tech 1 • In Butte, Mont., Rachel Enloe had a career-high 11 kills and seven digs, leading the Griffins to a 25-18, 25-22, 23-25, 25-20 victory in Frontier Conference action. Ashley Marchant tallied 11 kills and 17 digs for Westminster (9-5, 2-1), which plays its next four games at home, beginning Friday against Great Falls, Mont.

Northern Arizona 3, Weber State 0 • In Ogden, Kelli Dallmann had a match-high 12 kills to lead the Lumberjacks over the Wildcats 25-18, 25-10, 25-10 in Big Sky Conference play.

Freshman Rebecca Fuchs had a team-high nine kills for Weber State (6-7, 0-2).

Cross country

Southern Utah • Jamie Smith led the Thunderbirds to first place at the UC Riverside Invitational, covering the 6K-course in 20 minutes, 30.6 seconds. The Thunderbirds placed four runners in the Top 10: Sylvia Bedford was second (20:32.5), Danielle Jewkes was fifth (20:49.8) and Kirsten Bradford placed seventh (20:54.9). SUU had 31 points, well ahead of second-place UC Riverside (76).

On the men's side, Ryan Barrus (24:08.6) and Nate Jewkes (24:10.9) placed first and second, respectively, in the 8K invitational as the Thunderbirds finished second with 59 points. UC Santa Barbara was first with 53 points.

Montana State Invitational • In Bozeman, John Coyle helped Weber State edge Wyoming by one point for the men's team title. Coyle placed first overall, covering the 5-mile course in 24:43 — nine seconds ahead of Utah State's Kyle McKenna. Trevor Ricks was third in 24:53 and Mike Hardy placed fifth in 24:59 for Weber State.

Utah State's Alex Litzsinger placed second in the women's 3 mile, finishing in 17:19. Wyoming's Holly Page was first in 17:17 and Utah's Giselle Slotboom was fifth in 17:36.

Men's soccer

Notre Dame de Namur 2, Dixie State 1 • In Belmont, Calif., Michael Ropelato scored early in the second half for the Red Storm, but they couldn't maintain their lead as Argonauts scored in the 73rd minute and the 84th minute in Pacific West Conference play.

Dixie State (1-4, 0-1) outshot NDNU 11-10 in the second half.

Women's soccer

Dixie State 4, Notre Dame de Namur 2 • Jennifer Mason scored a hat trick to lead the Red Storm to their first victory of the season. Dixie State (1-2-2, 1-0 Pacific West Conference) outshot the Argonauts 26-14.
