Park City — Karen Budge-Eaton, Phil Jones, Lyle B. Nelson and Beat von Allmen will be inducted into the Intermountain Ski Hall of Fame on Sept. 26. Budge-Eaton became a U.S. Ski Team member at the age of 17. In 1967, she won the downhill at the Canadian National Championships. She also won the overall title at the U.S. National Alpine Championships. She is a native of Jackson Hole, Wyo. Jones has been involved in nearly every aspect of skiing, including racer, instructor and ski school director. He has spent the past 33 years at Park City Mountain Resort, including the last 16 as its president and general manager. He is a native of Twin Falls, Idaho. Nelson's skill in the biathlon helped advance the sport to unprecedented heights. He was a member of the U.S. Olympic teams in 1976, 1980, 1984 and 1988. He won 13 national and North American championships. The McCall, Idaho, native is a former president of the U.S. Biathlon Association. Von Allmen is a former member of the Swiss Olympic and national teams. He founded the Snowbird Race Team in 1971 and has designed resorts around the world, including Solitude in Utah. This year's Hall of Fame festivities start with a 6 p.m. reception at the Winter Sports Center in the Utah Olympic Park. Dinner follows with induction ceremonies beginning at 8 p.m. Tickets for the event cost $80. Seating is limited.
