Denver Broncos defensive tackle Ty Warren's football future is in doubt after he tore his right triceps in his first game since 2009. It's the same injury that sidelined him all of last season.

"I haven't even talked to Ty yet, I'm sure he's disappointed," Denver coach John Fox said Monday.

The 31-year-old defensive tackle re-injured himself early in the Broncos' 31-19 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers. He missed all last season after tearing the same muscle during training camp, and he missed the 2010 season, his last in New England, with a hip injury.

If he's placed on season-ending injured reserve for the third straight year, it could spell the end of Warren's career.

Warren was the 13th overall pick by the Patriots in 2003 and he helped New England win two Super Bowls before signing a two-year, $8 million deal in Denver in 2011. Although he restructured his deal over the summer, Warren will end up collecting more than $5 million from the Broncos.

Warren's return lasted two plays into the second quarter Sunday night when he came up injured after shaking off a blocker and trying to tackle running back Jonathan Dwyer.

Around the league

Browns • Cornerback Joe Haden was suspended Monday without pay for four games for violating the NFL's policy on performance enhancing substances. Haden's suspension begins immediately, and he will not be eligible to return to the Browns' active roster until Monday, Oct. 8, one day after they play at the New York Giants.

Haden, who reportedly tested positive in the offseason for the stimulant Adderall, played in Sunday's season opener against Philadelphia.

Bills • Receiver David Nelson will miss the rest of the season after tearing a ligament in his right knee during Sunday's loss to the New York Jets, and running back Fred Jackson, who will miss at least four weeks after he also hurt his right knee.

Packers • Receiver Greg Jennings has a groin injury, and his status for Thursday night's game against the Chicago Bears is unclear. Packers coach Mike McCarthy says Jennings was hurt late in Sunday's loss to the San Francisco 49ers.

Jets • New York announced Monday that cornerback Darrelle Revis has a "mild concussion," and his status for the team's game at Pittsburgh on Sunday is uncertain.

Saints • New Orleans placed recently re-instated linebacker Jonathan Vilma on the physically unable to perform list, meaning he'll be out through Week 6, even if he has not been served a new bounty suspension by then. Vilma is rehabilitating his surgically repaired left knee and did not play Sunday, two days after his suspension stemming from the NFL's bounty investigation was vacated, but not permanently voided, by an appeals panel.
