When it comes to the regular season, the Ogden Raptors have the secret to success. The Pioneer League affiliate of the Los Angeles Dodgers will advance to the South Division playoffs for the fifth consecutive season.
The Raptors, lacking only a championship during that stretch, have advanced to the league finals the last two years.
Ogden opens a best-of-three series 1:05 p.m. Friday at Grand Junction's Sam Suplizio Field. Game two is scheduled for 7 p.m. Saturday at Ogden's Lindquist Field. If a third game is needed, first pitch Sunday is 4 p.m.
Great Falls and Missoula will compete for the North Division title.
Coming into the regular-season finale Thursday, also at Grand Junction, the Raptors had tied the franchise record for wins in a season with 44. Ogden (44-31) won both halves of the Pioneer League's split season for the third consecutive season.
The Rockies (42-33) qualified for the playoffs by having the division's second-best record.
Rockies 4, Raptors 3 • Ogden fell at Grand Junction as the Rockies knocked in the game-winner in the bottom of the ninth.
