Former Utah Jazz assistant Gordon Chiesa has been named a special consultant to new Orlando Magic head coach Jacque Vaughn. According to the Orlando Sentinal, Chiesa "figures to be Vaughn's guru" because of his "vast NBA experience." A former college coach at Manhattan and Providence, Chiesa spent 16 seasons on head coach Jerry Sloan's staff in Utah. While Chiesa was with the Jazz, they went to five Western Conference finals and two NBA Finals. Vaughn, meanwhile, is starting his first season as the Magic's head coach. He was Utah's first-round draft pick in 1997 and spent four seasons with the Jazz.
