Michigan running back Fitzgerald Toussaint pleaded guilty Tuesday to drunken driving while his availability for Saturday night's showdown with No. 2 Alabama remained unknown.
Toussaint made a brief appearance in Washtenaw County District Court, pleading guilty to operating a vehicle while visibly impaired after being charged with the more serious operating while intoxicated. He faces up to 93 days in jail when he is sentenced Oct. 23, just after Michigan hosts Michigan State and prior to its game at Nebraska.
Texas A&M-Louisiana game postponed
Texas A&M and Louisiana Tech have decided to postpone Thursday night's season opener in Shreveport because of Hurricane Isaac's forecast path through Louisiana.
The game has been rescheduled Oct. 13.
Miss. St. dissociates from booster
Mississippi State has disassociated from an athletics booster because of "impermissible contact" with a prospective student-athlete.
The booster's name was redacted from documents provided to The Associated Press after a Freedom of Information Act request. Mississippi State announced last week that it is cooperating with the NCAA because of a "potential recruiting irregularity."
