The Utes keep their football practices closed to the public, but if there was one thing they probably would have liked all to see was the way quarterback Jordan Wynn was throwing passes Monday. Wynn didn't seem hampered by his shoulder in the short time media members were allowed to watch and afterward proclaimed himself to be as healthy as ever. The break he took from throwing to rest his sore shoulder was just that, a break, he said. "I got calls from friends making sure I was Ok," he said. "But it was just a precautionary thing. To be honest, if you asked Jon (Hays) or Travis (Wilson) how they felt their arms are probably sore too. There is nothing wrong and I'm happy to be out there." Utah coach Kyle Whittingham said people probably over-reacted to Wynn's break from passing. "It was just a tired arm," he said. Still, it's hard to not be suspect of Wynn's health given his history of three shoulder surgeries since he has been with the Utes. Wynn seemed understanding of the skepticism in the public on Monday, but hopes it is in the past too. Also in the past, he hopes, are any breaks from practice. "There are no more double days so I'm not anticipating any more days off," he said. Wynn wasn't the only key player who returned to practice Monday. Offensive linemen Vyncent Jones, Miles Mason and Sam Brenner returned along with safety Quade Chappuis. Whittingham said the presence of the linemen was a relief since the offensive line is one of the most inexperienced areas on the team. "We're as intact as we are going to get right now," he said. "Starting today hopefully we can develop some good chemistry until we play." The Utes are in 'game mode' now that camp is over. The Utes still have some players battling for playing time but the focus now shifts to Northern Colorado. Any thoughts that the Utes might be looking past the opener were shut down by Whittingham. "We don't do that," Whittingham said when asked. "That is a cardinal sin." Video for you of Wynn talking to media members following practice.
