On Wednesday Utah quarterback Jordan Wynn was boasting about how great he felt. By Thursday, well, he wasn't feeling so great. Wynn sat out Thursday's practice because of a sore shoulder, according to Utah coach Kyle Whittingham. Whittingham said the decision to hold Wynn out was just precautionary. "He should be fine," he said. "The silver lining is it let some of the other guys get some reps." Of the backups, veteran Jon Hays looked the strongest in the live work. He completed passes of 35 and 20 yards to Luke Matthews and Dres Anderson. He was also picked off by safety Tyron Morris-Edwards. Wynn had plenty of company in the pit with offensive linemen Daniel Kristensen, Miles Mason and Sam Brenner sitting out of practice. Others were corner Tyler White and safety Quade Chappuis. Whittingham said none of the injuries were serious. "We lost five or six guys in the first 30 minutes of practice," he said. "It's getting to be that point in camp where things accumulate." Freshman running back Jarrell Oliver made some nice runs in the live work, busting through the middle. The guy who stood out the most though was sophomore safety Terrell Reese, who has made the most of the shoulder injury to Chappuis. Whittingham called him one of the most improved players of camp and said he is challenging for playing time. "He, Tyron Morris-Edwards and Michael Walker are all competing for that spot and he is in the thick of it," he said.
