Olympics: Sunday's TV highlights, Eastern time

The 2012 Summer Games wrap things up on Sunday with — what else? — the Closing Ceremony (NBC primetime, 7-10:38 p.m. EDT).

As you might expect, organizers are trying to keep details secret, so no spoilers here. Just a bit of a guess.

The Closing Ceremony can't possibly be any odder than the Opening Ceremony, because the Opening Ceremony was really odd. Or maybe just really British.

But before the closing show, there are still a bunch of medals to award.

• The men's basketball gold-medal battle between the USA and Spain airs live from 10 a.m.-noon EDT on NBC and the NBC basketball channel. The Spanish are seeking their first hoops gold; the Americans their 14th.

The bronze-medal game — Russia vs. Argentina — will also air live, but you'll have to get up early to see it (6-8 a.m. ET, NBCSN/NBC basketball channel).

• The men's volleyball battle gold-medal between Russia and Brazil will be tape-delayed (4-6 p.m. EDT, NBC), as will the bronze-medal match between Bulgaria and Italy that precedes it (12:45-2:45 p.m. ET, NBCSN)

• And there's the men's marathon (6-9 a.m. EDT, NBC), the quintessential Olympic event. American runner Meb Keflezighi, who won a silver medal in 2004, is a contender.

Boxing (8:30-11 a.m. EDT, CNBC): Gold medal finals in men's flyweight, lightweight, welterweight, light heavyweight and super heavyweight classes.

Men's cycling (8:30-10 a.m. EDT, MSNBC): Mountain bike gold-medal final.

Women's modern pentathlon (9-9:30 a.m.; 2:45-3:45 p.m. EDT, NBCSN): Fencing and swimming, then riding and combined.

Men's water polo: Bronze-medal match — Montenegro vs. Serbia (9:30-10:45 a.m. ET, NBCSN); gold-medal match — Croatia vs. Italy (12:30-1:45 p.m. EDT, NBC).

Men's handball: Bronze-medal match — Hungary vs. Croatia (7:45-9 a.m. ET, NBCSN); gold-medal match — Sweden vs. France (10:45 a.m. -12:45 p.m. EDT, NBCSN).

Wrestling (2:45-4 p.m. ET, NBC): Gold-medal finals in 66kg and 96kg classes.
