No American has won gold in the men's 10,000m since Billy Mills in 1964, but Galen Rupp ­— the U.S. record holder — is among the favorites at the London Games.

Another runner to keep an eye on is Rupp's friend and training partner, Somali-born Mo Farah, who competes for the U.K. The race will be seen live in the Eastern and Central time zones ­­— but not here (3:15-4 p.m., NBC/Ch. 5).

• Michael Phelps is scheduled to swim his last Olympic race as part of the medley relay team (NBC primetime, 7-11 p.m., Ch. 5).

• Four American teams are in action — vs. Lithuania in men's basketball (7:30-9:30 a.m., NBCSN/NBC basketball channel); vs. Russia in men's volleyball (10:45 a.m.-12:30 p.m., NBC/Ch. 5); vs. New Zealand in women's field hockey (noon-1:30 p.m., NBCSN); and vs. Serbia in men's water polo (2:40-3:45 p.m., NBC/Ch. 5).

• All the men's soccer quarterfinals air live on MSNBC/NBC soccer channel: Japan vs. Egypt (5 a.m.); Mexico vs. Senegal (7:30 a.m.); Brazil vs. Honduras (10 a.m.); Great Britain vs. South Korea (12:30 p.m.).

NBC PRIMETIME (7-11 p.m., Ch. 5): Swimming comes to a conclusion with four gold-medal finals; women's 100m dash; women's springboard diving semifinals; and beach volleyball semifinals.

Boxing (6:30-9:30 a.m.; 1:30-4:30 p.m., CNBC): Round of 16 elimination bouts

Tennis: Gold-medal finals in women's singles (8-10 a.m., NBC/Ch. 5) and men's doubles (9:30-noon, NBCSN)

Badminton: Gold-medal finals in women's singles (9:15-10 a.m., MSNBC) and women's doubles (11:45 a.m.-12:30 p.m., MSNBC)

Trampoline (10-10:15 a.m., NBC/Ch 5): Women's gold-medal finals

Cycling (1-1:40 p.m., NBC/Ch. 5): Gold-medal finals in track cycling

Weight lifting (2:15-2:30 p.m., MSNBC): Men's 94kg gold-medal final

Shooting (2:30 p.m., NBCSN): Women's trap gold-medal final
