Texas cornerback D.J. Dean says he loves to play man defense. "I like to get in their faces and jam them up," he said of his opponents. The love of that style of play, plus a good visit to Utah, led to Dean's decision to join the Utes next year as he gave the program an oral commitment. Dean said he chose the Utes over TCU. "I visited for the Red and White game and really liked the coaches, they treated you like family," he said. Dean said he doesn't have any hesitation in going to school out of state, adding he was attracted to Utah for its sports medicine program. "I want to be a sports trainer," he said. "It's a good program that I liked." Dean is the second player from Texas to commit to Utah for the 2013 season. Earlier defensive lineman Sam Tevi committed to the Utes.
