ESPN.com reported Thursday night that Dan Fegan, the agent for disgruntled Orlando Magic center Dwight Howard, said Howard will not sign a contract extension this season with any team he may be traded to.

"Dwight's position has remained unchanged since the end of this past season," Fegan told the website. "He fully intends to explore free agency at the end of next season, regardless of what team trades for him, including Brooklyn."

Howard, who is in the last year of his contract, has demanded a trade from Orlando. Various reports have listed Brooklyn as his preferred destination, and more still have said he would sign an extension with either the Nets or the L.A. Lakers, prompting Fegan's statement.

Around the Association

Thunder • Center Kendrick Perkins had surgery for a ligament tear in his left wrist.

Nets • Brooklyn re-signed guard Keith Bogans. Terms were not disclosed.

Bulls • Free agent forward Vladimir Radmanovic agreed to a contract with Chicago.
