Las Vegas • Forward Blake Griffin injured his left knee in a scrimmage on Wednesday and has left Team USA to be examined by doctors, USA Basketball has confirmed.
The federation said Griffin is flying to Los Angeles on Thursday for "further evaluation." He will miss Team USA’s first exhibition game against the Dominican Republic on Thursday.

Citing unnamed sources, a Yahoo! Sports report said the severity of the injury is unclear, but that USA Basketball has asked New Orleans Hornets rookie Anthony Davis to return to the team, after not making the 12-man roster last week.
Davis is expected to be available against the Dominican Republic.
The injury is only the latest in a long series of them that has thinned the roster of available players. Superstars such as center Dwight Howard, guards Derrick Rose and Dwyane Wade and forward Chris Bosh all had been sidelined before the team opened training camp last week.
