Real Salt Lake will kick off the CONCACAF Champions League on the road this year, playing CS Herediano in Costa Rica on July 31.
The team learned its tournament schedule on Friday.

It will play each of its two group opponents twice — once at home and once on the road — and need to win the group to advance to the knockout rounds.
RSL will play its second group game at home against Tauro FC of Panama on Aug. 21, followed by a trip to Tauro on Sept. 18. Its final group game is at home against Herediano on Oct. 23.
All of the games will start at 8 p.m. MT, except the game at Tauro, which will start at 6 p.m.
RSL reached the finals of the Champions League last year, but lost to Monterrey of Mexico, the two-time defending tournament champion.
