The top quarterback in Utah has a chance to climb that national rankings, too.

Cottonwood senior Cooper Bateman was named Friday to the Elite 11 finals roster, joining the other top quarterbacks in the Class of 2013 at the premier national showcase for prep signal callers. Bateman burst onto the national scene at the Dallas Elite 11 regional showcase in Marc, finishing as the runner up for MVP.

Bateman is rated the No. 61 recruit in the ESPN 150 and has dozens of offers, including BYU and Utah, as well as national powerhouses such as Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, LSU and Washington.

The Elite 11 take place in Redondo Beach, Calif., in July and will air on ESPN. Bateman will be a third-year starter at Cottonwood in the fall, and will lead the Colts into a brutal schedule which includes a Sept. 7 showcase game against Skyline (Wash.) that will air on an ESPN channel.
