Goalkeeper Nick Rimando and his wife, Jacqui, will be the featured guests at a "soccer celebration" dinner hosted by the University of Utah women's soccer team tonight at the Sheraton hotel in downtown Salt Lake City.The event begins with a reception at 6:30 followed by dinner at 7.Fans can still attend; tickets cost $75 for adults and $45 for students in high school or younger, with discounts for larger groups. Call 801.330.7272 for more information.The Rimandos will take part in honoring the Utes after their first season in the Pac-12 Conference, as the "first couple of soccer" in Utah, according to coach Rich Manning.Manning coached Jacqui Rimando at Santa Clara before he became coach of the Utes; she was known as Jacqui Little when she was an All-American who led the Broncos to four straight NCAA College Cup semifinals. She later played professionally and married Rimando, a two-time MLS Cup champion and occasional player for the U.S. men's national team."The Rimandos are great ambassadors for our sport," Manning said. "Nick is a world-class goalkeeper that we get to see on a weekly basis with RSL. Jacqui was an all-American in college and a professional champion as well. They are both tremendous people that will have some great stories to share."
