As a senior, and given his status as a probable second to third round NFL draft pick, Bobby Wagner was going to be gone, and everyone knew it.

The linebacker group, however, has been dealt another blow.

Maurice Alexander, who played extremely well in his lone season at Utah State, is no longer an Aggie.

Alexander started multiple games in a USU uniform. He is best known for his speed, his size and ability to make plays in opposing backfields. He would most likely have been a starter in 2012, although he was going to be moved to strong safety.

His departure means sophomore Tavaris McMillian is the undisputed leader of the linebacking corps. While the sophomore out of Miami should be one of the best linebackers in the WAC this season, Alexander's talent was being counted upon.
