Cedar City • Southern Utah University softball star Mikkel Griffin was one of four players in the nation recognized as a Top Performer by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association.
The St. George native had already been named the Summit League Player of the Week after going 8-for-11 from the plate last week with nine walks for an .850 on base percentage. Her hit totals included three home runs, two doubles, seven RBIs and 19 total bases as the Thunderbirds went 4-1 during the week with wins over Utah State and Weber State.
