SLCC men’s, women’s teams in action

Taylorsville • The Salt Lake City Community College men’s and women’s basketball teams will be hosting CEU and CNCC in Friday and Saturday SWAC contests.

The men meet CEU at Bruin Arena Friday at 8 p.m. and CNCC Saturday at 7 p.m., while the women play CEU Friday at 6 p.m. and CNCC Saturday at p.m.

The men’s team brings a 20-7 overall mark and 7-5 league record into the weekend. The Bruins, who were led by sophomore guard Darian Cartharn, dropped a 61-54 game at North Idaho College Thursday and then lost 87-73 to No. 4-ranked Southern Idaho Saturday. CEU brings a 15-10 overall and 3-8 league record into the game, while CNCC is 6-18 overall and 1-10 in league play.

SLCC’s women’s team is 14-11 overall and 5-7 in league play. The Bruin women lost to defending national champion and ninth-ranked North Idaho College 49-40 and Southern Idaho on Saturday. CEU’s women’s team brings a 14-12 overall and 6-5 league record, while CNCC is 9-16 overall and 0-11 in league play.
