Provo, Utah • Jennifer Hamson had 18 points and nine rebounds Saturday and No. 22 BYU avenged an earlier loss by defeating Saint Mary’s 83-47 Saturday.
The Gaels beat BYU 54-48 in their West Coast Conference opener on Dec. 31.

BYU (21-4, 9-2) was led by its centers. Hamson and Kristen Riley, who contributed 15 points and six rebounds, were too much for the Gaels (16-8, 7-4).
The Lady Cougars also made eight 3-pointers in their ninth straight home victory.
BYU pressured Saint Mary’s into committing 29 turnovers, converting them into 40 points. Jackie Nared had a team-high eight points for the Gaels, who barely shot 25 percent.
Oregon St. 62, Utah 49 • In Corvallis, Ore., the Beavers held off Utah for the Pac-12 victory.
Michelle Plouffe had 17 points and 10 rebounds, and Taryn Wicijowski 16 points and 10 rebounds for Utah (10-12, 3-8).
The Beavers opened the second half with a 15-3 run to go ahead 41-25, but Utah made it interesting, closing within 50-45 on Plouffe’s free throws with 3:54 remaining.
Earlysia Marchbanks had a career-high 22 points and 10 rebounds for Oregon State (15-7, 6-5), which also got 13 points from Sage Indendi and won its fourth straight game despite going scoreless for the last seven minutes of the first half and a four-minute stretch late in the second.
Northern Colorado 70, Weber St. 57 • In Greeley, Colo., Megan Patterson scored 17 points for Weber State, but the Wildcats (2-21, 0-10 Big Sky) suffered their 13th straight loss. Caela Mohre added 15 points for Weber State, which was reduced to just eight players in the game due to various injuries.
Lauren Oosdyke led the Bears (14-9, 6-4) with 17 points.
Westminster 62, Montana Tech 48 • Shelby Ellsworth came off the bench to score a game-high 16 points as the Griffins (15-7, 8-1 Frontier Conference) won for the ninth time in their past 10 games. Nicole Yazzie and Cydney Tibbits added 15 points each for Westminster.
SLCC 57, Colorado Northwestern 45 • In Rangley, Colo., Fawn Bradley scored 13 points, Diamond Marchant had 12, and Katie Walker added 11 to lead the Bruins (13-9, 4-5 Scenic West Athletic Conference) to the win.
South Dakota State 65, Southern Utah 43 • In Brookings, S.D., Andrea Jones led SUU (5-18, 1-11 Summit League) with 13 points in the loss.
