Utah Valley picked third in conference softball poll

Portland -- The Utah Valley University softball team was picked to finish third in the Pacific Coast

Softball Conference's Mountain Division preseason poll, which was released Thursday.

Weber State was picked last in the six-team division.

Defending champion Portland State was tabbed to win its third consecutive Mountain Division title. Northern Colorado was selected to finish second, ahead of Utah Valley, Idaho State, Seattle and Weber.

Loyola Marymount was picked to win the Coastal Division, ahead of San Diego, Sacramento State, Saint Mary's, Cal State Bakersfield and Santa Clara sixth (14 points).

All 12 conference head coaches voted in the preseason poll.
