Indianapolis • Colts vice chairman Bill Polian says Peyton Manning will not play in the final two games, but the franchise quarterback did take snaps from center Jeff Saturday this week.
Polian made a rare postgame podium appearance Sunday after Fox Sports reported Manning had been throwing with running backs and receivers during the week and that the quarterback still hoped to play this year.

Polian said Manning did some post-practice work with Saturday and Joseph Addai, throwing a series of prescribed passes Wednesday. On Thursday, Polian said team doctors said Manning’s recovery had not progressed far enough to warrant a return to game action.
Manning has not played since having neck surgery Sept. 8, and the Colts were winless without him until Sunday’s 27-13 win over Tennessee.
