Las Vegas • With four rounds remaining at the $6 million Wrangler National Finals Rodeo at the Thomas & Mack Center, the race for the world saddle bronc championship is wide open.

Four cowboys are less than $27,000 apart in the world standings.

Taos Muncy of Corona, N.M., regained the lead Tuesday night, when he finished third in Round 6 and bumped his season earnings to $179,529.

Milford's Cody Wright, a two-time world champion, did not score in the sixth round. Still, he is second on the money list with earnings of $175,776.

Wade Sundell of Boxholm, Iowa, sits in third after finishing second in Round 6. He has banked $164,550 this season.

Meanwhile, Milford's Jesse Wright finished fifth in the sixth round and stayed in contention for the world title with earnings of $152,816.

In other events:

• Payson's Kaycee Feild continued his march toward the world championship by posting a score of 84.5 and finishing third in bareback. Feild pocketed $10,673 and bumped his season earnings to $219,121. He leads second-place Will Lowe of Canyon, Texas, by $59,853.

• Ogden's Jody Sheffield finished fifth in barrel racing with a time of 13.99 seconds, meaning she has placed in three of the first six rounds.

• In bull riding, Payson's Steve Woolsey posted a score of 88.5, finished second behind Chandler Bownds of Lubbock, Texas, and earned $14,134.
