Frontier Conference honors Westminster's Orchard

Whitefish, Mont. — Jake Orchard of 11th-ranked Westminster College is the Frontier Conference men's basketball player of the week, commissioner Kent Paulson announced Tuesday. Orchard, a junior forward from Salt Lake City, led the Griffins to a 73-60 win over Northern Colorado last week. Northern Colorado is the defending Big Sky Conference champion. Against the Bears, Orchard led the Griffins with 28 points, one rebound, three assists and two steals. He missed only one field-goal attempt, going 9-for-10 overall and 6-for-6 from three-point range. Also nominated for this week's Frontier Conference award were P.J. Bolte of Lewis-Clark State, Andy Garland of Carroll College, T.J. Harris of the University of Great Falls and Shaun Tatarka of Montana State-Northern.
