SUU's Mirand, Pelaez-Mailoto honored by Summit League

Southern Utah University's Analaine Pelaez-Mailoto and Gabi Mirand have been honored by the Summit League with a pair of postseason awards.

Pelaez-Mailoto was named first-team All-Summit League for the third consecutive time after leading the league in points per set with 4.66 and ranking second in the conference with 4.15 kills per set. The Hooper native became the first player in SUU volleyball history to surpass the 1,000-kill mark after the sixth match of the year and currently has 1,447 for her career.

Mirand has been named to the Summit League All-Freshman team after starting in 29 of 30 matches at setter and leading the team with 9.36 assists per set. Mirand was also second on the team with 27 service aces and finished the year with 67 kills, 180 digs and 36 blocks.
