University of Utah gymnastics coach Greg Marsden announced Wednesday that Breanna Hughes of Champlin, Minn., and Haley Lange of Bellevue, Wash., have signed letters of intent. "Breanna is someone we've had our eye on for a long time and was a highly-recruited prospect," Marsden said. "She is capable of contributing on all four events, but is especially beautiful to watch on beam and bars." Marsden described Lange as "... a real diamond in the rough. In the last year and a half, Haley's improvement has been remarkable. We think she will continue to get better throughout her collegiate career and look forward to being a part of that process." Hughes is a Junior Olympic national team member and three-time Junior Olympic national runner-up on the uneven bars. She placed third on the bars at the 2008 Junior Olympic championships and fourth in the all-around at both the 2010 and 2011 Junior Olympic championships. Lange qualified for the 2010 Junior Olympic championships. Her recent results include a first-place finish on the uneven bars and third-place all-around finish at a 2011 international competition in Guatemala. As a team, Utah has qualified for 36 consecutive national championships and all 30 NCAA Championships. The Utes have won 10 national championships and have placed in the top-three 22 times. Utah is tied for the most NCAA Super Sixappearances with 17 (out of 19) and is the only school in the country to make the Super Six every year since 2000.
