Weber State has called a press conference for noon Tuesday to announce the retirement of football coach Ron McBride.

McBride, 72, has coached the Wildcats since 2005 and has an overall record of 41-38, including 32-21 in the Big Sky Conference. In 2008 and 2009, McBride guided Weber State to back-to-back Football Championship Subdivision playoffs for the first time in school history.

The 2009 season included a co-BSC championship.

McBride, who suffered a microfracture in a knee during Saturday's loss to Montana State, also compiled an 88-63 record in 13 seasons as head coach of Utah.
