A Salt Lake City woman accused of arranging to sell her daughter's virginity for $10,000 appeared in court Tuesday and waived her right to a preliminary hearing.

Dressed in a yellow jail jumpsuit, the 32-year-old woman appeared before 3rd District Judge Glen Iwasaki, who set the woman's next court date for Oct. 24.

The woman, whose name is being withheld to protect her 13-year-old daughter's identity, was charged in May with felony counts of aggravated sexual abuse of a child and sex exploitation of a minor.

The woman's boyfriend reported the alleged plot to police after he found text messages outlining a deal with a man identified only as "Don," prosecutors said.

The woman promised her daughter would perform oral sex and other acts in exchange for the money, officials said. The mother is also accused of sending pictures of her daughter wearing lingerie to another man for money.
