Salt Lake's Jeremy Moore is a low-key kind of guy who rolls with the flow.
"Sometimes things don't go your way," he said recently.
But things are definitely going Moore's way. His combination of speed and power has helped spark a Bees resurgence.
Salt Lake (55-64) has won 16 of 25 and is now in third place in the PCL's Pacific Northern Division. The Bees play Omaha on Friday to begin an eight-game homestand at Spring Mobile Ballpark.
During Salt Lake's 10-7 victory Wednesday against Albuquerque, Moore swatted a pair of home runs, including his second inside-the-park homer of the season. Moore's two-run blast over the right-field wall in the sixth gave Salt Lake a 6-3 lead.
The day before, Moore banged out a double and a home run. For the second time this season, the swift outfielder also scored from second base on a wild pitch in the second inning.
Moore also stole home Monday.
"He's showed a lot of the things that he showed last year," Bees manager Keith Johnson said. "If you're going to do it, now's the time."
The 24-year-old Moore, who enjoyed a breakout season at Double-A Arkansas in 2010, was troubled by inconsistencies for much of this year.
Then, just as Moore appeared to be figuring out Triple-A, he tweaked his hamstring and was out for more than a week.
Moore enters Friday with a .295 batting average and 19 doubles, 14 triples and 12 home runs.
"He's found a level of consistency," Johnson said. "He now understands that his game is good enough to compete in this league."
Moore has begun to understand the game he rarely played as a high school athlete in Vivian, La. He was drafted by the Los Angeles Angels strictly on athletic ability, which is why he can score from second on a passed ball or steal home.
"He has great instincts," Johnson said.
