SHREVEPORT, La. • Southern Utah split a doubleheader at Centenary College Friday, winning the opener 12-1 but losing the nightcap 8-3.
In the opener, SUU's Tyson Weber and Taylor Shaw both singled and then scored with Bo Cuthbertson on Cuthbertson's double, an error and Mitchell Kauweloa's sacrifice fly. It just got more lopsided from there.
In the second game, SUU jumped to a 3-0 lead onlyt to see Centenary rally with four unanswered runs. The Gents went on to post another four runs to even the tally for the night.
SUU improved to 19-25 on the year and is tied for fifth in the Summit League with a 7-11 mark. Centenary improves to 5-12 in conference play and 8-25 overall.
