Real Salt Lake midfielder Javier Morales got some recognition for his two goals and one assist against Los Angeles over the weekend.

The North American Soccer Reporters voted Morales the MLS player of the week for his high-scoring performance against the Galaxy, arguably RSL's biggest rival. Paulo Junior, who made his debut Saturday for RSL and scored a goal, finished second in voting.

Morales contributed to RSL's initial goals in the 4-1 rout, assisting the first and scoring the next two.

It is the midfielder's fourth career weekly honor, which puts him one short of the franchise record. Morales was player of the week twice in the 2010 season and once in 2009.
