SUU women tennis players host Vegas meet

Cedar City • Southern Utah’s women’s tennis team takes this week off from Summit League play to host Seattle, South Dakota, North Dakota and San Jose state in the Las Vegas Challenge at Bally’s Resort.

The Thunderbirds will play Seattle Thursday, South Dakota Friday, North Dakota Saturday and San Jose State Sunday. Idaho State is also part of the challenge. SUU opened Summit League play last weekend in Las Vegas, where they went 3-1. Sophomore Olia Tatarchenko saw her season-opening five-game winning streak end against IUPUI’s Vanessa Whyte last Friday but recovered to win both her matches Saturday. Freshman Danica Ingwaldson when undefeated in the Las Vegas Cluster, moving her overall record to 7-1.
