Cedar City — Southern Utah University's Jeff Evans has been named co-golfer of the week by the Summit League for his play at this week's Jackrabbit Invitational at Primm Valley Golf Club.
Evans, a Cedar City junior, shot all three rounds under par in carding a 208, good enough for a seventh-place tie with UMKC's Korbin Kuehn, who was also honored by the league. The duo were the top two finishers from the Summit League in the tournament, which features six of the league's 10 men's teams.
He opened the tournament with a season-low round of 67, one stroke off his career low. He followed that with rounds of 70 and 71. This is Evans' third Summit League honor this season and the fifth in his SUU career.
