Three Southern Utah women's basketball players won Summit League postseason honors Thursday.
Senior forward Challis Pascucci was named to the all-conference first team, while senior guard Caitlyn Sears made the all-conference second team and freshman guard Desiree Jackson landed on the all-newcomer team. It's the first time in seven years that three Thunderbirds had three such honorees.
The Thunderbirds enter this weekend's Summit League tournament as the No. 5 seed, and will face fourth-seeded Oakland University at 11 a.m. MST on Sunday in Sioux Falls, S.D.
Pascucci averaged 17.8 points and 9.0 rebounds - that ranked third and second in the league, respectively - and became the first SUU player named to the all-conference first team since Casey Cooke in 2003-04. She also is the school's all-time leader in rebounding and games played.
Sears enjoyed her best season by averaging 15 points and 5.4 rebound per game, and the Cedar Hills native joined Pascucci in eclipsing 1,000 points in her SUU career. Jackson averaged 9.4 points per game.
