The Southern Utah University women's basketball team was crushed in the Centrum Arena on Monday by visiting IPFW, 90-68, in the regular-season finale for both teams.

The Thunderbirds (16-13, 10-8 Summit League) got a game-high 25 points from senior guard Caitlyn Sears.

Senior Challis Pascucci had 19 points and eight rebounds, and freshman guard Desiree Jackson chipped in 13 points.

SUU is the No. 5 seed in the Summit League Tournament and will face No. 4 seed Oakland University on Sunday at 11 a.m. MST in Sioux Falls, S.D.

Iowa 8, Southern Utah 3 • The Thunderbirds lost their first game of the Jayhawk Classic on Monday in Lawrence, Kan. SUU fell to 4-2.

Track and field

The Utah Valley men's and women's indoor track and field teams both finished second to South Dakota at the Great West Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships on Monday in New York. UVU's Tim Rowberry, named the meet's top male performer, won the mile in a record time of 4:10.53.
