Five-time defending Mountain West Conference champion TCU is the unanimous favorite to make it No. 6 in its final regular season in the MWC. The Horned Frogs received all 16 first-place votes and 112 points overall from coaches and media.

Meanwhile, BYU had 84 points to finish second. San Diego State collected 75 points for a third-place ranking in the poll, while New Mexico was fourth (71 points). Rounding out the poll were UNLV in fifth (45 points), Utah in sixth (43 points) and Air Force in seventh (18 points).

TCU returns its entire starting rotation and seven starting position players from a squad that finished the season with a 54-14 overall record and No. 3 ranking in the final polls. The Frogs captured both the Mountain West Conference regular-season and tournament titles before advancing to the semifinals of the 2010 College World Series.
