Logan • Utah State cornerback Curtis Marsh has accepted an invitation to the 2011 Under Armour Senior Bowl scheduled Jan. 29 at 2 p.m. in Mobile, Ala.

He is the first Aggie to be selected to play in the Senior Bowl since 2004 when tight end Chris Cooley played in the game. Defensive back De'von Hall played in the 2008 East-West Shrine Bowl.

In only his second season as a cornerback after playing running back for the first two years of his USU career, Marsh earned second-team all-Western Athletic Conference honors.

"Curtis's ability to accept the position change is not only a great example of his terrific individual athleticism, but also showcases his team-first mentality," said Aggie football coach Gary Andersen.

The Senior Bowl features some of the country's best senior collegiate football players on top NFL draft prospects on teams representing the North and South that are coached by the entire staffs of two NFL teams.

"It is a great opportunity to get exposure to NFL scouts," Marsh said. "It is a great opportunity for me to help myself even more in getting to the next level. Getting a chance to be in front of scouts every single day and play with top-notch competition across the country is a great opportunity."

Marsh, a Simi Valley, Calif., native, ranked second in the WAC and sixth in FBS in passes defended with 1.25 per game with 15 total including two interceptions.
