The Summit League will visit the University of North Dakota next month to assess whether it wants to add the school to its conference.

A site team, consisting of league commisioner Tom Douple and Southern Utah University President Michael Benson among others, will head to the university on Nov. 1 and Nov. 2 to examine the state of its athletic programs. The visit could be the deciding factor in whether the league chooses to bring in North Dakota as what would be its 12th full member.

The Summit League consists of 10 full members, and the University of South Dakota is an associate member that will join the conference in the next academic year. North Dakota currently competes in the Great West conference, which has lost several of its members and associate members in recent months.
