Free Flow Tour to show off young action sports talent

Before the superstars of action sports descend on Salt Lake City, the future stars will be here.

Hundreds of skateboarders and BMX riders will compete in the Gatorade Free Flow Tour qualifiers this weekend. The finals will be held next week in conjunction with the Dew Tour's Toyota Challenge in and around EnergySolutions Arena.

Young athletes from all over the world are expected to compete at Rosewood Park in Salt Lake City, 1400 N 1200 W. The skateboard competition will be Saturday and BMX will be held Sunday. Registration both days runs from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. with competitions starting at noon.

Sandy skateboarder Tyson Bowerbank, 15, has already qualified for next week's finals after reaching finals in four events this year.

The Free Flow tour is considered a stepping stone to the Dew Tour. BMX star Mike Spinner got his start on the tour, as did Salt Lake City native Colton Satterfield.
