There are no women serving Utah in elected statewide offices or as representatives at the federal level.
But three Utah women are running for national office this year — and they joined the Utah Womens Giving Circle Wednesday night for a conversation about the value of having women help shape the state’s communities.
Tickets sold out — but The Salt Lake Tribune livestreamed the event at www.sltrib.com. Jennifer Napier-Pearce of The Tribune moderated.
The panelists included:
Donna McAleer, U.S. Congressional candidate, District 1
Luz Robles, U.S. Congressional candidate, District 2
Mia Love, U.S. Congressional candidate, District 4
Natalie Gochnour, associate dean of the David Eccles School of Business at the University of Utah
Sarah Nitta, a state House District 27 candidate in 2012
The Utah Women’s Giving Circle was formed in 2011 to leverage small donations into larger support for programs that strengthen women in Utah and grow possibilities for Utah girls.
