Meet to discuss transit in Sandy, S. Jordan

First Published Jun 06 2014 12:35 pm • Last Updated Aug 27 2014 06:02 pm

Residents will have an opportunity next week to weigh in on a study about the future of transit in Sandy and South Jordan, including the possibility of creating a circulator bus system to connect FrontRunner and TRAX stations there.

The Utah Transit Authority is staging an open house to take comments Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Gale Center of History and Culture, 10300 S. Beckstead Lane, South Jordan.

"This is a critical opportunity for our residents who are interested in transit options to make their voices heard," said South Jordan Mayor Dave Alvord.

"This is the earliest stage of looking into transit possibilities in the study area," UTA spokesman Remi Barron said. "UTA listens to the public first to get their input on all possible transit options, and this is the first of many opportunities for people to express their view."
