The Utah Transit Authority is offering a promotion designed to help youth have more freedom this summer — a $99 pass that gives them unlimited access to buses and trains all summer.

The new "Rider’s License" is available to youth ages 6 through 17 to ride TRAX, FrontRunner, buses and the Sugar House streetcar from June 1 to Aug. 31. It may be purchased online at rideuta.com

"This is a promotional idea that is designed to encourage families, or young people on their own, to use our system for their summer outings," said UTA spokesman Remi Barron.

"The Rider’s License promotion is available for the 2014 season only with a limited number of passes available. If successful, UTA may consider offering the program again in the future," he said.
