The Salt Lake Chamber will provide a free training course Wednesday on getting involved in neighborhood political caucuses.
The 8 a.m. session at the Chamber office, 175 E. 400 South, Suite 600, will touch on everything a newcomer might need to participate effectively in a caucus.
Discussions will address caucus basics, becoming a delegate to the major parties' state conventions and changes being made as the Legislature amends the caucus system in response to the Count My Vote initiative favoring direct primary elections.
Important dates also will be emphasized — March 18 for Democratic caucuses, March 20 for Republican caucuses and April 26, when the parties hold their state conventions.
