A final official count of votes for the Nov. 5 general election closed the gap but did not alter the outcome of the West Jordan mayor's race.

Salt Lake County elections officials completed a final canvass of votes this week.

The official tally left Kim V. Rolfe the winner in the West Jordan mayor's race with 6,212 votes, or 50.29 percent of the vote. His challenger, Ben Southworth, took in 5,997 votes, or 48.55 percent, a difference of 215 votes.

The election night unofficial tally had Rolfe with 5,520 votes and Southworth with 5,183, a difference of 337 votes.
