Washington • Former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman will host a weekly radio show on SiriusXM as part of the group No Labels aimed at ending gridlock and bringing compromises from both sides of the political aisle.
No Labels had previously launched a monthly show that occasionally featured Huntsman, a Republican who ran unsuccessfully for president, but has now shifted to a show headlining the ex-governor, who has made a niche in trying to rebrand and refocus the GOP.
Huntsman told the Metropolitan Club of Washington on Tuesday that the post-partisan No Labels now has 86 members of Congress signed on to try and combat the tense relationships on Capitol Hill.
"In running this little clinical trial with No Labels, I can tell you, something is happening," Huntsman told the crowd. "And it's good."
Huntsman is co-leader of the group along with Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W. Va.
The radio show, called "No Labels Radio with Jon Huntsman," will air Saturdays at 10 a.m. on the SiriusXM P.O.T.U.S. Channel 124 and on the network's smartphone app.
The launch of the show "comes at a time when it's never been more important for Americans from all backgrounds and their political leaders to come together," said Scott Greenstein, president of SiriusXM.
"The opportunity for SiriusXM listeners across the country to personally engage with Governor Huntsman and other leading problem solvers in this important national conversation is vital to our nation's renewal and recovery from the government shutdown and related recent events."
