Civics Central: Weber County looks at assessment for Powder Mountain improvements

Here's your weekly roundup of what local city councils, school boards and other government entities are tackling during regularly scheduled meetings. Government agencies have until 24 hours before a meeting to post their agendas, so check back as this schedule will be updated. All meetings are open to the public, and citizens are welcome to voice their opinions during designated times. If you do wish to speak at a particular meeting, you may need to sign up in advance.

Brigham City Council & RDA • Will consider interlocal agreement for RDA #1 tax increment revenues; will also consider continued participation in the Wasatch Regional Council Metropolitan Planning Organization; Thursday, Aug. 15, 7 p.m. in City Council Chambers, 20 N. Centerville Planning Commission • Will discuss accessory dwelling units and their uses (no action will be taken at this time); Wednesday, Aug. 14, 7 p.m., 250 N. Main St., Centerville. View the Centerville Planning Commission agenda.

Clinton City Council » Will consider subdivision final acceptance of Maplepark Phase 2 at approximately 1950 North 2895 West; Tuesday, Aug. 13, 7 p.m., 2267 N. 1500 West, Clinton. View the Clinton agenda.

Davis County Commission • Will consider an appeal of a denied conditional use permit application for Kay's Cross Spook Alley; Tuesday, Aug. 13, 10 a.m., Davis County Administrative Office Building, 61 S. Main St., Farmington.

Farmington Planning Commission • Will consider a request from Rainey Homes for a recommendation of final plat approval for the Miller Meadows Phase 5 Conservation Subdivision (10 lots) on 3.92 acres at approximately 450 West 600 South in an AE zone; Thursday, Aug. 15, 7 p.m., 160 S. Layton City Council • Will hold a public hearing on a proposal to amend the parking requirement for home improvement stores; Thursday, Aug. 15, 7 p.m., 437 N. Wasatch Drive, Layton.

Ogden City Council Joint Work Session • Will meet with Weber State University representatives for a tour of WSU's downtown facility and to discuss issues of mutual concern; Thursday, Aug. 15, 5:30 p.m., in Suite 150 of the Corporate Alliance Building at 2225 Washington Blvd., Ogden. Provo Planning Commission • Will hold a public hearing to consider an ordinance amendment to allow funeral homes and crematory services in the Neighborhood Shopping Center zone; Wednesday, Aug. 14, 5 p.m. in Municipal Council chambers of the Provo City Center at 351 W. Salt Lake County Council • Has canceled its meetings on Tuesday, Aug. 13.

South Jordan Planning Commission • Will hold a public hearing to consider rezone of three parcels at 10490 S. 1000 West from office and commercial-community to village mixed residential; Wednesday, Aug. 14, at 6:30 p.m. in Council chambers, City Hall, 1600 W. Utah County Commission • Will consider a resolution consenting to the appointment of a deputy clerk/auditor; Tuesday, Aug. 13, 9 a.m., 100 E. Center St., Provo. View the Utah County agenda.

Weber County Commission • Will consider approving special assessment area for road, water and sewer improvements at Powder Mountain, will also consider a contract with Hales Engineering for a Combe Road traffic study; Tuesday, Aug. 13, 10 a.m., first floor Commission chambers of the Weber Center, 2380 Washington Blvd., Ogden. West Jordan City Council • Will consider resolution to approve $26,219 contract with Rocky Mountain Power for splash pad at Ron Wood Park, will also consider $1 million contract with S & L, Inc. for 2700 West road widening and waterline replacement; Wednesday, Aug. 14, 6 p.m., third floor Council Chambers, City Hall, 8000 S.
