Hill Air Force Base is hosting military aircraft from several states starting Friday and continuing through Aug. 23.
That means between 14 and 20 more flights daily as the 86th and 83rd Fighter Weapons Squadrons conduct air-to-ground and air-to-air weapons system evaluations.
The program, called Combat Hammer/Combat Archer, entails using various munitions in realistic combat scenarios at the Utah Test and Training Range in the west desert, the base said in a news release.
"From storage to impact, we're evaluating the effectiveness of various weapon and aircraft combinations," said Lt. Col. Ian Phillips, commander of the 86th fighter squadron.
The planes include F16s, F15s, an AC-130 gunship, B-1 bombers and remotely piloted aircraft, also known as drones.
