The municipal election in Alta this fall includes three open City Council seats and the mayor's post.

However, Mayor Tom Pollard is running unopposed.

Four candidates are vying for two four-year seats. Incumbents Cliff Curry and Paul Moxley will be on the ballot along with challengers Maura Olivos and Elise Morgan.

Merebea Danforth, who was appointed to fill the seat of Steven "Piney" Gilman, who stepped down after a residency dispute, is running unopposed in a special election for the remaining two years of his seat.
